Taipei Dome Roof Installation Recorded Using BCC2000 Camera

The Taipei City Government released a new time lapse of them installing a matting material on the roof of the TaipeiDome. Locally known as Taipei’s “big egg,” the Taipei Dome is a large multi-purpose stadium that will host major international sporting events and concerts. Once completed, it will be able to accommodate up to 50,000 people!

The roof of the dome was constructed using titanium. In addition to being an aesthetically pleasing material, titanium is also resistant to corrosion, can withstand high-temperatures, and its strength prevents damage from earthquakes and strong typhoon winds.

One downside to titanium is that it is a lot shinier than other materials which makes it a troublesome material to use in city environments with lots of sunshine. To prevent damage from reflecting sunlight, a matt coating material was used to cover the titanium. Watching the time lapse you can really tell the difference that the matting material makes.

The installation of the matting material was captured using Brinno BCC2000 cameras and the Taipei City Government shared the update footage on social media.
