Museum Exhibit Installation Captured using Brinno Cameras

With all the unknowns of what 2020 would bring next, the National Palace Museum in Taipei didn’t know whether or not they were going to have to alter their planned exhibition schedule. Fortunately, Taiwan has managed to keep cases low without ever having to go into a full lockdown. Tourists have been banned from visiting Taiwan since March so museum visitor numbers have been much lower than usual but other than that it’s been business as usual.

The National Palace Museum has once again partnered with the Singaporean interior design company SpaceLogic to put together an interactive and modern exhibit that showcases beautiful artwork from Chinese women throughout history.

The exhibit She & Her features 71 pieces of art from the museum collection that are divided into two categories: “Norms of FemaleBeauty” and “Ladies of Artistic Talent”. The National Palace Museum hopes that this exhibit encourages visitors to not only appreciate the artistic beauty of these pieces of art but also to spark conversations about women’s rights in the21st century.

Though most of traditional Chinese society was ruled by men there were a number of women who broke gender norms and diligently practiced their craft, leading to the creation of magnificent pieces of art. The NationalPalace Museum is honored to have a large number of works in its collection from various dynasties that showcase the diverse talents of Chinese women throughout history.

This is the second time Brinno has worked in partnership with the National Palace Museum to record the installation of one of their exhibits. In 2019 theNational Palace Museum had a collaborative multi-media exhibition that showcased historic artwork that featured animals. Three public zoos and theNational Museum of Marine Biology and Aquarium provided guidance and materials that taught visitors about environmental protection in the context of the animals featured in the ancient artworks. Both installation videos were filmed using Brinno empower series cameras.
